Smartphone Industry Sees Shifting Landscape

A new report indicates notable changes in the US smartphone market during the second quarter of 2025. While Apple continues to hold a significant lead, its shipments saw an 11% decline year-on-year. Samsung, however, experienced a surge, boosting its US total by 38%, largely driven by its affordable Galaxy A-series phones, increasing its market share from 23% to 31%. Google’s Pixel phones have also made strides, shipping 800,000 units and regaining a spot in the top four, surpassing TCL. This shift is partly attributed to manufacturers front-loading shipments ahead of potential new US import duties, and a significant move of production out of China, with India now accounting for 44% of all US smartphone imports.
